Grant: Dengue Tech Challenge 2016

Dengue Tech Challenge 2016

Dengue fever is a viral infectious disease transmitted by mosquitoes. Despite concerted dengue control programs, dengue fever remains a major public health challenge in Malaysia. According to World Health Organisation (WHO), as of 7 November, there were 102,801 cases of dengue with 283 deaths reported in Malaysia for 2015. This is 18.5% higher compared with the same reporting period of 2014. From 1 to 7 November 2015, there were 2,136 cases of dengue reported, which is lower than the previous week [1]. The Dengue Tech Challenge aims to:

  • support commercialisation of Dengue research between organisations from Malaysia and United Kingdom
