RxnFinder – a tool for synthetic chemist

The ReactionFinder is the online search engine for the ChemInform Reaction Library (CIRX), a part of the ChemInform family. CIRX contains over 1.7 million reactions and covers data from 1990 to the present. CIRX is produced by organic chemists as a useful tool for the synthetic organic chemist. Data are selected from about 100 journals by precise selection criteria.

The Great Lab, organised by a group of undergraduate students passionate about science and supported by CREST Malaysia, is an innovation challenge open to all Malaysian students from pre-university level all the way through to postgraduate level. The aim of the challenge is to cultivate an innovative spirit within Malaysian students as well as expose our students to the scene of industrial research and development back home in Malaysia, through a comprehensive competition involving aspects of proposal writing, ideas pitching as well as eventual product design and development.

L’Oréal-UNESCO For Women in Science National Fellowship is now open for Malaysian women researchers under the age of 40 years, who are PhD holders or currently pursuing research study in the field of Life Sciences. A financial assistance of RM30, 000 each will be granted to 3 young female researchers. Registration for application of fellowships in the field of Life Sciences will be open from now till 30th May 2014.

L’Oréal Malaysia Honors Three Outstanding Women in Science

This year, another three outstanding young women in material science was awarded the L’Oréal-UNESCO For Women in Science fellowship and each will also receive a research grant worth RM20,000. These three young women scientists were selected out of 68 submissions by an esteemed jury panel, their research proposal was evaluated based on the scientific impact, quality of research, publications, work experience and previous awards received.

With the estimated number of annual new HIV infections in Cambodia plummeting from 20,000 in the early 1990s to around 1,300 in 2012, a new initiative called Cambodia 3.0 is being implemented to achieve the elimination of new HIV infections in the country by 2020.
